I would love to help with your tutoring needs!
I specialize in working with elementary and middle school students in all subjects along with high school students struggling with study skills, Algebra, and Geometry. I received my bachelors degree from Rutgers University in 2005 and began tutoring in 2012. I love tutoring and have thoroughly enjoyed witnessing my students become more confident and successful in school!
My primary tutoring strategy is to focus on building confidence. A confident student is better prepared to learn and is more tolerant of making mistakes and going through the learning process.
Confidence comes from a lot of feedback and practice. The more feedback a student receives and the more practice they execute, the more their confidence in their abilities will grow. In addition to providing that important feedback to the student, I also assist parents with learning how to give constructive feedback to the student when they are ones engaged in homework help. Having the proper communication skills can greatly transform the interaction between parent and student when challenges arise!
Confidence also stems from students and parents understanding the specific learning styles the student is using to learn new material. It is very important for all involved to become aware of the student's strengths in their learning style. The important role I play as your tutor is that I can teach both parents and students specific strategies to utilize those strengths. In turn, that will translate into more success in school!
Thank you for taking the time to read a little more about me and I look forward to helping you with your tutoring needs!
