I am a graduate of The University of Virginia with a Bachelor's of Art in Psychology and Sociology. I recently received my Master's Degree in General Counseling Studies from Capella University. I work for the Virginia Department of Corrections as a Case Management Counselor. I am extremely passionate about my job. I have the job a facilitating programs to offenders of a wide range of learning levels and ways of learning; thus, I must use various teaching methods. Methods include comparing complex material to areas of the offender's interest, finding hands-on situations for the offender to practice a skill, or creating a teachable moment during a life circumstance. I am interested in providing tutoring in criminal justice, sociology, psychology, and basic subjects, such as math, science and spelling.
