I enjoy helping others, and I enjoy the school (or collegiate) environment. I have two Bachelor's degrees. My first one is a BA in Physics from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. My second is a BS in Meteorology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Needless to say, a great deal of math courses are in each curriculum. I'm also very detail-oriented, so when I explain a math problem (or any problem), I don't skip steps. I want to make sure that the student understands how I got from point A to point B (no pun intended geometry students). I also don't wish to charge a tremendous amount for my services. I understand how it is in today's economy. I want to be a part of the solution--not the problem. I'm willing to tutor groups, and I also am very accessible via the computer. If you're comfortable with doing so, then we can even have video conferences. I also have a scanner. If you want to send me a specific problem, then I'll see if I can solve it. If I can, then I'll send it back to you as an e-mail attachment.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I tried to at least get started with this:   Let x= pounds of coffee   6.25X + 3.25X = 5.13(160)   9.5X = 820.8   X= 86.4 lbs for one bean (or 87 when rounded)   73.6 lbs remains for the other (or 74)
