I studied Arabic formally during my BA in International Affairs at George Washington University. During my undergraduate study I studied Arabic intensively for 3 months in Damascus Syria. I continued my study of Arabic during my MA in Islamic studies program. In addition to academic study I have been studying advanced levels of Arabic online, as well as advanced grammar text al-Ajrumiyya, and Hidayat al-Nahw (Guidance of Grammar).

Religion

I hold an M.A. in Religion from the University of Georgia. I taught classes the University of Georgia as a teaching assistant from 2008-2010 while I was in the M.A. program. I taught an Introduction to Islam/Christianity/Judaism course. In addition I have been teaching courses on Religion at the Fairfax Institute in Herndon, VA since 2010. These courses include, Rumi, Islamic Art & Spirituality, and Comparative Religion.
