I have been teaching in the special needs classroom since 2000. My students have been varied in needs from needing basic skills in reading, math and written expression, to having these skills but needing the extra learning strategies and study skills to excel in any subject. I have had the opportunity to tutor students with special needs and students within general education in numerous subjects to include pre-algebra, biology, earth science, US and World History, English and reading remediation from basic phonics through improving reading comprehension at the high school level. I enjoy all of these subjects as well as the love of my native language, Spanish.
I believe every student can learn given instruction which fits personal learning style and motivation. Creating a strong foundation in basic principles allows my students to focus on achieving higher goals. I look forward to working with you.
