I teach math at Paul D Camp Community College. I have also taught middle and high school math. Although my college degrees are primarily in engineering and business management, my electives were in mathematics and computer science. I also completed the Career Switcher Program at Old Dominion University and passed the Praxis II exam for mathematics in Virginia.
My basic philosophy for mathematics education is that students need to learn how to solve problems using their mathematical skills. I don't believe in teaching how to pick the right answer on a test. If they know the basic mathematical theories and concepts, students will be able to answer any test question. After mastering the concepts, then I can teach them how to answer the test questions.
