I teach math at Paul D Camp Community College. I have also taught middle and high school math. Although my college degrees are primarily in engineering and business management, my electives were in mathematics and computer science. I also completed the Career Switcher Program at Old Dominion University and passed the Praxis II exam for mathematics in Virginia.
My basic philosophy for mathematics education is that students need to learn how to solve problems using their mathematical skills. I don't believe in teaching how to pick the right answer on a test. If they know the basic mathematical theories and concepts, students will be able to answer any test question. After mastering the concepts, then I can teach them how to answer the test questions.
I taught precalculus and calculus at Paul D. Camp Community College in Franklin, VA and Southampton High School, VA from 2012 to present. I taught algebra II and precalculus at Franklin High School in Franklin, VA during the 2010-2011 school year. I taught algebra I and algebra II at Windsor Middle School and Windsor High School, VA as a substitute during 2008 - 2010 school years.
I have taught Precalulus I and II for Paul D. Camp Community College, University of Maryland, Franklin High School and Southampton High School in Virginia.
