I have twin boys in High School who have struggled with a lack of interest in their studies. It has been a constant struggle getting them to make good grades. In the middle of the 2nd quarter of this year I had serious concerns about them passing. I searched for help and found Piu. I met Piu before we began and let her know what I expected. She has been very professional and has helped my boys immensely. My boys did not like the idea of a tutor, but after their very first lesson they realized how helpful she was. They told me she teaches in a way that helps them to understand, not only finding the answer but understanding the methods in finding it. My boys are now proud of their grades, and so am I. Thank-you for the helpful feedback. After working with your boys for the past couple months, I can see the progress in their grades and their behavior. They are eager to learn how to the problem correctly and know the relevant concepts. In a matter of months they went from not being interested in their studies to aiming to be on the AB honor roll. It means a lot to me to know that I helped instill this change of mentality. One thing that I have always appreciated is how your boys truly want to learn the concepts and not just have me do all the work for them. I usually show them how to do a problem twice and then they do the rest of the problems by themselves, asking for help when needed. They don't expect me nor ask me to write out every single problem. They want to do it on their own and learn.

I just read Veronica's review and I had to write this. I recommended Veronica to Wyzant. By coincidence she chose the same tutor (Piu) I have had a very different experience! Piu has been on time, and has even come to our home, because the library opens too late for them to meet there. Who knew they open so late? I wouldn't think they open later than 11:00! She told me that and we made other plans. She has helped my son with HS Chemistry, Algebra 2 and Computer Math! Right now, he has all A's! I am sorry Veronica had a bad experience, but I feel confident it was just an isolated case. Everyone's human. WyzAnt gives everyone a chance to see if it's a good fit first. I have been very happy with Piu and will continue to keep her as my son's tutor. I will still recommend her, even after reading that review! She is very good and returning messages. I like texting or email vs. phone calls.

I had a very disappointing experience with Piu. She seemed to be learning the material as she was trying to explain it to my son. Additionally, our first meeting we had to wait 30 minutes and go to a Starbucks because the library wasn't opened. She should have been prepared and known what time the library opened before setting the appointment. The second meeting she was 1/2 hours late (she had personal reasons, but still very unprofessional.) My son had to wait at the library until 7:45 when the lesson was for 6:00.

Save between 5 and 15% on tutoring by purchasing credit with one of our prepaid discount packages. You can buy one of our standard 5, 10 or 15% packages or customize your own package based on how much tutoring you need. The credit you purchase can be used towards any tutor at any time and does not expire. If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
