Ravi knows what he is talking about and makes math look easier to you. He explains any topic you throw at him very nicely in a way anyone could understand and master. He helped me in various topics ranging from the very complicated to the very basic. Easy to relate to for current students and that makes it overall easier.
I contacted Ravi looking for tutoring for my stats exam. Ravi was extremely sensitive in listening to my request and working at my pace, and really helped me retain the material at the same time. Highly recommendable.
I have been working with Ravi for two weeks and my only regret is that I didn't begin working with him sooner. He is incredibly patient and knowledgeable and I feel as if I am learning more about statistics as a result of our tutoring sessions. I recommend him highly as a tutor.
Ravi was an incredible math tutor, and I highly recommend him. Not only was he always respectful, patient, and never condescending (which, as an older student several years from any math schooling, was an important factor in my readiness to learn), but he was very articulate (clarifying math concepts using concrete, real-world examples), friendly, and punctual. He provided with each lesson detailed, organized notes to review, as well as manageable and pertinent assignments for the following lesson. What I found especially valuable was the way Ravi approached each problem from multiple angles. GRE study guides often only showed one way to calculate an answer, leaving me unable to know intuitively what to do when faced with a problem. He showed "shortcuts" as well as explaining the more "formal" school-room methods. I feel more confident in taking the GRE in the future, able to tackle previously intimidating subjects such as probability, statistics, and word problems with much more ease.
I'm an undergraduate at a university. Math 15 is one of my core classes. Before Ravi my math grade was 15 out of 100. After we studied together, I got a "90" from my latest exam! He was very patient with me and explained everything step by step. Even the problems I taught I could never get, I understood. I'm really thankful to him. Now I'll be able to pass my class. He's a great tutor! Nice, patient, clear, on time, encouraging. He shows different ways to solve a problem, you can go whichever makes sense to you. I'd say study with him, its worth it! 5 stars to Ravi!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Two years of high school teaching experience.
I am a graduate of Rutgers University and hold a BA in mathematics. I have taken two official standardized tests, the SAT and GRE. On both of these, I achieved a perfect math score. I have gone through plenty of GMAT problems and they are very similar to the GRE, both in terms of scope and difficulty level. I am happy to go over fundamentals with you, as well as more difficult problems if you are shooting for the top.
Scored 800/800 on quantitative section.
