Hi, my name is Heather and I graduated with a BS in Computer Science from The University of Maryland. I currently am employed as a computer scientist, but I'm very passionate about helping and teaching others, so I want to share my knowledge and experience with you. I know quite a few programming languages, operating systems, various computer software programs and some topics in math and science. Some of the languages that I am familiar with are: Java, C, C-sharp, C-plus-plus, php, oracle, sql and javascript. I'm also familiar with Linux, MacOS, and PC operating systems. Algebra 1

I have always excelled in mathematics, and the tools that I excelled at grasping in algebra classes have proved vital throughout my life and career. And still, to this day I find myself using the tools taught in typical Algebra 1 courses. Therefore, I could be of great help to anyone in need of help in this area.

Java

I learned Java in my undergrad, and I really like the language. I've used it to not only to write programs for work and school, but also for personal projects. So, I'm well versed and a lot of the capabilities of the language.

Web Design

I have written multiple websites for classes in my undergraduate career. I've also designed one based on studying UI design that was fully functional by using HTML and java.

Volleyball

I played through junior high and high school. I also played on a club team at my university and participated in some intramurals. I still like to play in some leagues that are held locally around my home, so I'm still practicing. I've also played for so long that I know how to teach others the different positions and different plays.

C

I took multiple courses in C in my undergrad career, but more importantly I use it on a daily basis at my current job, so I am very well versed in this language.

Computer Programming

I have a degree in computer science, so I am well versed in programming in multiple languages.

Computer Science

I have a BS in computer science, so I have a great deal of experience and knowledge in this field.

Microsoft Windows

I've been using windows for years (as long as I can physically remember), and I also use it every day on my work computers (I have one running on windows 7 and another on XP).

Oracle

I have written and designed my own databases (multiple different programs) using oracle and java, so I am very familiar on how it works.

PHP

I studied this language in school, and I have written a few programs on my own using it.

C#

I learned this on the job because it is the language my job uses for Desktop applications, so I also use this on a daily basis at work.

Great instructor — Heather was knowledgeable, professional, and patient helping me learn javascript this term. I have a liberal arts background, and this material did not come intuitively to me. Learning the ins and outs of coding would have been much more difficult, perhaps not possible, without the extra help she provided.
