My expertise lies in several areas: standardized test preparation, both math and verbal, Spanish language and literature (all levels), and college, scholarship and financial aid counseling. I have also taught math including algebra, advanced algebra, college math and statistics. Throughout my 27 year career, I have achieved notable success in all areas of scholastic preparation. I have taught for a number of years with the Cambridge Educational Group and presently work part time with them in developing their products. I have also taught teacher preparation for the SAT/ACT at the college level as an adjunct instructor at Queens College and math instructor at ASA College. I have served as NY State Chairperson for the ACT and been an active member of NACAC (National Association of College Admissions Counselors).
Motivation is the key to success and dramatic score increases can be attained by any student. Students in high school need to be aware of all the educational opportunities available to them, as well as the reasons for excelling in their present classes, and I strive always to keep my students aware and involved in all competitive scholarship and financial aid opportunities open to them. I feel that private tutoring should be focused and economical and allow parents and students to take advantage of different educational strategies.
