I am a recent college graduate with strong academic credentials and experience working with virtually all age groups of youth. I graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the Honors Program at the University of Kansas where I majored in Political Science and minored in English. My experience working with youth includes facilitating government and civic engagement lessons for groups of high school students at the National Young Leaders Conference, serving an AmeriCorps term at a nonprofit that provides tutoring and enrichment activities for elementary school students, teaching piano lessons to students age 7-14, volunteering with children and young adults with developmental disabilities, and working as a homework helper with several different after school programs.
My true passion is English (language, literature, reading, writing, grammar...all of it), and some of my most rewarding experiences have been helping students who struggle with reading and writing. I am also very well versed in politics/government and American and world history. These are my main interests, but I am open to tutoring other subjects as well. Additionally, I am available to teach beginner or intermediate piano lessons, as I have two years of experience teaching piano (in addition to 4 years of lessons and 9+ years of music theory and orchestra experience).
