Mature and Knowledgeable History and Social Studies Tutor

I am licensed Social Science teacher in the State of Virginia. I graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas, with a BA in Historical Studies. Currently, I am working as a substitute teacher for the Prince William and Fairfax County Public Schools, substituting in middle and high schools. I am also working as a private tutor for high school students in the subjects of World, European and American History, US Government and Civic.

During my sessions, I focus on students' weaknesses and create lesson plans accordingly. I will welcome parents and student participation in creating the plans. During my sessions, I encourage students to ask questions and we will organize the material and information in a way that students will understand and retain it easily. Working together we can achieve success and real improvement. It is important for me to create a fun and good learning environment where students enjoy learning and do not feel pressured or overwhelmed.

American History

I have a degree in Historical Studies and I am a licensed to teach the subjects of History, Social Studies and US Government in the State of Virginia. I tutored students on American and World history in the past. I also taught 12th grade US Government class during my student teaching in 2012 at Annnandale High School.

European History

I have a degree in Historical Studies and I am a licensed teacher of the subjects of History, Social Studies and US Government in the State of Virginia. I grew up in Europe and earned my first degree at a University there, so I am very familiar with European History. I tutored students on European and World history in the past.

While we studied US History, more emphasis were placed on World History, and because of that, I am equally knowledgeable very with World and US History.

Bible Studies

In the past 20 years I taught in different Sunday schools. My areas included the history of religions and the relationship between the three major monotheistic religions: Christianity, Judaism and Islam. I also taught adult educational classes about the birth of Christianity and its close relationship to Judaism and Islam. I also worked at the Dallas Holocaust Museum as a trainer for tour guides and educator of the Holocaust.

ADD/ADHD

I have a degree in Business Management and worked as a business manager for many different companies. Based on my studies and work experiences, I have experience with organization and time management and I can help students who are straggling with those issues.
