I am an intelligent, fun-loving, enthusiastic person who loves learning and helping others learn. I can help make mind-boggling subjects more manageable and maybe even fun.
After completing a Master's degree in economics with an emphasis on econometrics and environmental economics, I taught both math and economics at community college and university, followed by tutoring for several years. While teaching Algebra 1, I excelled at helping students who thought math was not for them learn to enjoy it. I received some of the highest evaluations the school had ever had.
My Montessori training and work with my own children (1st and 4th grade) has uniquely prepared me to help elementary students in math and language. The Montessori method of using concrete materials to build a foundation for abstract ideas is ideally suited for children struggling with reading or math concepts.
