My name is Sherazade. I usually go by Claire. For starters, I'll tell you about where I am from. I was born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia. I have always lived here and I am very familiar with the school system. My mother is from Idaho so I tend to visit there at least once a year. My father, on the other hand, is from Iran. He's been here since 1978 (the year before the revolution).
How is this relevant? Well, my diverse background gives me an upper hand in culture. I am very open minded and I attribute that to my background. I love, love, love to travel. That is what I invest in. So far I have been to 9 countries, including the U.S. I have been to England, France, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Nicaragua, Jordan, and Israel. I can't tell you which my favorite is because every place has a unique culture and different type of beauty to it.
I love teaching, always have. There is something very rewarding when you see the look on their face when they finally understand something. The younger the better (that's when you learn all the cool stuff anyway), young kids have such a natural curiosity to them and I love that. They want to understand things; they really try to make connections.
I feel that the older people get the more they lose that inquisitiveness. Not me though! I love to learn and understand new concepts, that's why I want to major in Science. I hope to be able to relate that to your child. Learning is so much fun and it doesn't have to be from a text book.
