I have a degree in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University and have spent the last six years working at the United States Patent and Trademark Office where I've been engaged with the cutting edge in scientific innovation. I believe in the power of individual attention to help students achieve their full potential whether it be through explaining difficult concepts from multiple perspectives, helping to organize and focus a student, or by coaching problem solving techniques and how to break down a complicated question into manageable pieces.
I love math and science and am currently transitioning toward a full-time teaching and tutoring career. I have experience tutoring in many academic fields, and my favorite subjects include algebra, geometry, calculus, probability and statistics and physics. I also enjoy tutoring for standardized tests including the SAT, ACT, GMAT, GRE, and LSAT, and have scored at or above the 98th percentile on each of these tests.
I believe in a fun and engaging learning environment, and I think humor can be a valuable educational tool since students learn best when they enjoy the material. I also enjoy volunteering as a youth soccer coach, and have experience working with students of all ages. I hope you'll consider me and I look forward to helping you or your child achieve their academic goals.
