I am a former Air Force engineer and pilot. I have taught a number of different topics including engineering, mathematics, physics, flying, and survival.

I spent four years teaching undergraduate electrical engineering, general engineering, engineering mathematics, and physics. I was also an instructor pilot for many years in the Air Force teaching both flight fundamentals and instrument flying.

In my many years, I have had hundreds if not thousands of hours of one-on-one instruction in the subjects I taught. I have developed an understanding of how students learn, what misunderstandings they will have, how to prevent those misunderstandings, and how to motivate them. I am patient with my students and I like to move at their pace and no faster.

Algebra 1

I have expertise in math from basic arithmetic to calculus. I have years of experience teaching math, physics, and engineering. I understand what students need to learn, what mistakes they will make, and how to avoid them. My focus is on understanding the concepts rather than memorization for the sake of passing the test.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, U.S. Air Force Academy, 1987, and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, University of Dayton, 1997. I spent four years as Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering, U.S. Air Force Academy, 2003 to 2007. I also taught engineering math, physics, engineering fundamentals, and aviation.

Geometry

I spent four years as Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering, U.S. Air Force Academy, 2003 to 2007. I also taught engineering math, physics, engineering fundamentals, and aviation. Geometry is a topic I use everyday. I have developed an understanding of how students learn, what their misunderstandings will be, and how to preempt those understandings to help them learn the concepts the first time.

Trigonometry

As a pilot, engineer, and teacher, I use trigonometry regularly in my daily work. I have years of experience developing lesson plans, working with students, and helping them through difficulties in understanding. There is no one technique that works with everyone so I have many approaches that I use to help my students learn.

Electrical Engineering

I have a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, U.S. Air Force Academy, 1987, and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, University of Dayton, 1997. I spent four years as Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering, U.S. Air Force Academy, 2003 to 2007. I also taught Circuits I and Circuits II, communications systems, digital systems, electromagnetics, electrical power generation and distribution, electrical machinery.
