I know - firsthand - the transforming power that a truly inspiring, fun-loving, creative teacher or tutor can have on a wandering mind.
Early on, I had a behavioral problem. I was bored.
With the specialized help I received from caring teachers and tutors, I went on to become the first in my coal mining family to go to college. I ended up at Harvard, Early Admission, NROTC.
One of the ways that my teachers, parents, and tutors channeled my boredom led to my greatest love: tutoring and teaching others. Starting in kindergarten, you could find me tutoring my peers (and older students) in subjects I had already mastered. On the school bus, on the playground, on the walk home from school ... I learned to make others' struggles my singular challenge: how to make the subject matter come alive, in a personally relevant way for each student?
All the way through secondary school, college, and into my career (business development, marketing, communications, and grant / proposal writing), I have continued to teach, tutor, mentor, and instruct others. The reward of seeing someone grasp a new concept, or re-think their opinion of the entire learning process, or overcome a learning impediment ... never gets old.
If you are a parent of a child with special needs - either struggling to succeed in a subject, or bored from lack of challenge in the classroom - I promise: you'll be thrilled with the result of my sessions.
If you are a student yourself, and you need help to get through a subject, let me be your guide. Your entire outlook will change by the time we're done.
Thank you for your consideration. I know that my proven, patient, and practical approach will change the way you learn, and will truly transform the way you feel about the challenges you're facing right now.
I look forward to working with you to achieve a whole new level of success!
Sincerely,
- David
