In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ADD/ADHD

I worked for several years with a student who was classified as ADHD and ED. I learned to find something that he was interested in to use as a catalyst to help him learn. I also learned that ways to motivate him to do activities he may not like to do by rewarding him with preferred activities.

QuickBooks

Using Quickbooks, I managed the entire accounting system for a small nonprofit organization for an entire year including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and taxes.
