Since I am young compared to other tutors, I am much more in touch with the students. Over the last two years, I have developed a style of teaching that involves actually teaching the students what they need to learn as opposed to merely working through their homework with them. For me, learning the material trumps whatever numerical grade that the student receives in class.
I have been tutoring for 2+ years and I enjoy doing so because it helps build my foundation of knowledge especially in math. I have tutored the following subjects: Precalc, Algebra 2, Algebra, Geometry, K-8 Math and Reading. My philosophy is to help the student cement their knowledge before moving forward, so I try my very best to make sure that I have taught them the foundation and the way that the actual science works. I believe that I am more that qualified as I have the following credentials: -SAT: 2200 -ACT Math: 36/36 -SAT Math 2: 790/800 I am willing to spend extra time with the student. I do charge, but money is secondary to actually helping the student learn. I will be entering the University of Virginia in the fall. I love tutoring and there is a reason that I have tutored kids as long as I have even though I am very young. However, being so young, I believe, helps me relate to my students and helps me help them connect the dots to make their understanding easier.
