There are many reasons why people choose to tutor. Mine has everything to do with my love for knowledge sharing and the joy I get from being part, albeit in the background, of individuals' success stories with academic work. Throughout my life, I have been engaged in active tutoring, though not for money in most situations. Starting from when I was in high school where I was always tutoring colleagues, to my college days where my room was the stop for most people with course difficulties, I have developed the knack for finding the right mix of strategies and confidence endearing relationships to help people go through academic materials they otherwise find tough.

Currently, I am providing voluntary tutorial for some adult college students and they are completely satisfied with the progress we are making together in areas where they thought they were not going to be able to make it. I love academic challenges and enjoy surmounting them; I look out for my students to have the same attitude. Attitude alone, however, does not produce the result. Knowing what ought to be known comes from knowing where and how to gather relevant information from even the most convinient of information sourses. This is where my strongest ability is: to navigate with the people I tutor to extract information that end up becoming part of them.

My decision to study special education and teach in that field comes from the willingness to help with the making of learning and information processing for functional purposes possible for all people.

All writers, academic or otherwise, must necessarily ensure that the product they make available to any other person is a proud one. The gate keeping to ensure that what needs to be added gets added, and the items that do not fit get removed, can easily make the difference between a quality ouptut and a mediocre one. Every good idea and smart information is as good as the quality of language used to transmit the information. Nobody wants to be frustrated reading a good information because the language is either tortuous, or is full of elementary errors enough to demean the good intent of the author. I offer graceful partnership with my students to be able to get the message they intend to convey completed in the clearest and most understandable way as possible.

Special Needs

I am certified Special Education Teacher (Early Childhood Special Education endorsement) with Virginia Department of Education. I am a teacher with the Fairfax County Public Schools where I teach both Class-based Special education students and home-resource students. The focus of my service is the provision of instruction and support that meet the IEPs of my students and easily transferable to the home eonvironment so that families can comfortably implement adaptations designs for home application. I obtained my graduate education in Special Education from the George Mason University College of Education and Human Development.

Academic writing is both an art and a rigorous skill. From gathering of data to organization thereof; from arrangement of plot to smooth linking of chains of thought; from using modern technology to manage references to properly formatting the paper, a lot goes into writing academic papers. Students need a grasp of the rudiments of generating this piece of work to be able to enjoy writing, and produce outputs that reflect positively on their intellect. There is nothing as frustrating as a student's inability to make good grades because of a problem of putting thoughts into the proper framework required. I enjoy working together with students to develop this important skill set that make them feel really liberated in their subsequent academic pursuits.
