I hold a PhD in philosophy, with a graduate minor in law, from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. As a tutor, I offer nearly 10 years of experience as an instructor, teaching assistant and tutor, in several core subjects within as well as outside of philosophy. I have either taught or served as a TA in areas such as ethics, philosophy of religion, Continental philosophy, metaphysics, logic, philosophy of art (with special attention to art history), political philosophy, and philosophy of law. To prepare for the dissertation, I also took courses in Constitutional and legal history. Outside of these fields, my expertise includes the related fields of writing, proofreading, public speaking (with six years of experience in speech and debate on the high school and college levels), philosophy of science, political science, and both American and world history. I have some clerical and I.T. experience as well, especially with regard to typing, Microsoft Office and Open Office, and Windows. Although my own knowledge of other languages is not as great as I would like (limited to some German), I have experience teaching and tutoring English to adults and high school-aged students in China. As hobbies, I have interests in current events, science (especially biology and astronomy), art history, film, and contemporary music.
