I love algebra 1. As many students' foundation of high school math, this class is very important to understand.
This can be a tough class for many students. With patience, and a little creativity, anyone can learn the concepts and begin to excel!
Elementary math is so important for the young students' future. I can help to develop a strong foundation, and even inspire a sense of accomplishment and enjoyment for math, as children learn the basics.
Being a biophysics major, I thoroughly enjoy science. In time, I actually plan to become a science teacher. I would love to help young students learn the very basics of science, and how things around them work.
One of my favorite subjects growing up. While writing, and reading critically, don't always come naturally to some people, there are always simple, easy ways to improve, and fine-tune their skills. Becoming skilled in English takes a little work, but can be a lot of fun, and very rewarding.
Not many people are perfect, when it comes to grammar. We all need some friendly reminders at times. It's important that we don't get discouraged, and keep practicing - that's when good grammar truly becomes a habit. The best part about learning grammar, is many grammar rules can be demonstrated with jokes, and are easier to remember!
Sometimes this transition from more elementary math, to algebra, a little more advanced, can be rocky. Not to worry! With a few well placed hints and reminders, anyone can learn and excel in prealgebra!
Let's be honest. This class can be tough. Oftentimes there is a lot of homework involved. I won't do it for you, but I am very happy to explain the principles in ways you haven't thought of before, and give hints as necessary. Math is all about changing your perspective until the problem is solved. I can help you do that.
I love vocabulary! It is actually quite fun for me to increase and apply my vocabulary. I find it easy to explain obscure words, and definitions, in a very straightforward way.
Some people get stressed out about writing - especially formal papers. I have a lot of experience in this matter - I wrote 2 or 3 papers a week in high school - and I actually loved it! I know that just a little fine-tuning goes a long way in writing, and this approach helps reduce stress, and increase motivation for any student to write exceptionally well.
