My name is Christina, and I am currently a third year Chemistry student. This spring, I was named the University's top analytical chemistry student for the 2011-2012 school year, and have been on my university's honor roll for all four semesters I have attended. I love to learn and have a passion for teaching others. In high school, I was a volunteer calculus and pre-calculus tutor, and during college, I have tutored several students in college algebra, calculus and general chemistry. In high school, I received departmental awards for calculus, biology, US history and Spanish, as well as being the overall Math Department Student of the Year as a senior. As a tutor, I am patient, methodical, encouraging, and understanding. Through the experiences of the students I have taught, as well as my own, I have seen how intimidating math and science classes can often seem. However, my approach of breaking these subjects down into their basic components and building knowledge from there has been proven to build confidence and promote deeper understanding of the subject. I am very excited for the chance to share my love of these subjects with my students.
