I was born in Brazil and came to the United States when I was 4 years old. My father went to BYU and earned his Bachelors’ Degree in Business Administration and received his MBA from University of Utah. He was then hired by Steiner Corporation, with headquarters here in Salt Lake City, to become the General Manager for the company in Brazil. We returned to Brazil in 1963 when I was 13 years old. I returned again to the United States when I was 18 to attend BYU. The short five years that I lived in Brazil as a teenager gave me a lifelong love and appreciation for my country of birth. I returned again to Brazil as a missionary for two years and developed a deeper appreciation for the people. Now I am bilingual in English and Portuguese and also bi-cultural. I earned an Economics Degree from BYU and a Masters Degree from Thunderbird School of Global Management. While at BYU, I worked for the MTC for four years teaching Portuguese. My method of teaching is what I learned at the MTC. We returned to Brazil in 1975 working for Caterpillar Tractor Company in Sao Paulo for 7 years. Later, I worked for the LDS Church as Assistant Director for Temporal Affairs in Sao Paulo and then I was transferred to Bogota, Colombia to be the Regional Manager for Temporal Affairs. Now back in the States, I am in the financial services and insurance business which gives me flexibility with my time.
