Over the years I have demonstrated success as an effective educator capable of teaching and directing students while maintaining high interest and achievement. I possess strong communication skills and effectively interact with diverse populations at a variety of academic levels. I have consistently maintained excellent relations with students, parents, faculty and administrators.

I feel education at any level should be focused on improving the reasoning and critical thinking skills of students. It is a teacher's responsibility to provide students with the background knowledge needed to solve problems, but education should also help students build confidence in their ability to use things they have learned to tackle difficult real-world problems.

I earned two Master's Degrees - Kaplan University, Master of Science in Higher Education, and Lancaster Theological Seminary, Master of Divinity. I also earner a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Social Science/Education from the State University of New York-Binghamton.

I am the author of two published works: The Power of Love: Improving Family Dynamics; and The Truth, a biography of an inmate incarcerated for life.

I am a retired English teacher, Missouri Military Academy, Mexico, MO; and I taught Relationships at Hampshire Country School, Rindge, NH, and an adjunct professor at Broome Community College, Writing for the Media.

I am an ordained minister and former chaplain at a state correctional institution; and a veteran, serving in the U. S. Army.

Vocabulary

As a teacher I insisted that students develop a vocabulary beyond simply daily conversation. New words were required to be used when writing and in conversation. This was especially true for students where English is a second language.

Grammar

I taught middle school English where grammar and spelling was included in the curriculum. I am the author of three books.

Reading

Reading and literature were significant elements in my English classes. Both the classic writers and modern day writers were read and discussed.

I personally read an average of a book a week, both fiction and non-fiction.

Writing

As an English teacher I required one written paper on various assigned forms each month.
I have also written three books in different genres: self-help, non-fiction-historical fiction.
As a minister, I wrote a sermon every week for over twenty years.
