Hello,
I am a recent recipient of my Master's Degree in Human Services Specializing in Counseling Studies and am employed as a Children's Mental Health Case Manager where I teach children with mental illness behavior skills such as coping skills, relaxation skills, anger management, and positive social behavior. I find my job to be very enjoyable, and I am only seeking part time work as a tutor in the following subjects: English, Reading, Spelling, and a number of college courses as well.
I consider myself to be a highly intelligent person who has always made good grades and graduated at the top of my class. Yes, my hard work and determination are the reason for this success in most ways, but in many ways I owe my success to those who taught me. Throughout my years in grade school and higher education, I have learned teaching methods that really work, and I have incorporated them in my sessions with my clients on a daily basis, and they have accomplished many goals and have demonstrated extreme progress in most cases.
I have been told that I have a different way of teaching than most, being that I try to keep learning fun. I truly believe that every child is special and has an individual need, thus their ways of learning are individualized as well. I know from experience that not all kids learn the same way; therefore, I take the time to get to know my kids and find out what techniques work for them and lessen the possibilities of becoming anxious, stressed, or overwhelmed. I believe that every child can succeed if provided the right tools!
