I have been tutoring at Tomball College since 1998 and taught there from 2001 through 2012. I have a Level III "Master Level Tutor" certification from CRLA, which is a Texas A&M program.
I always try to explain things in the simplest way possible so students will understand. After I demonstrate the problem, I get the student to do the problem so they feel comfortable doing the problem on their own.
Many students go from failing grades to grades in the 90's when they tutor with me. Keep in mind that it doesn't always happen overnight, so the sooner we start, the faster your student can achieve higher grades.

It has been wonderful having someone who my son can relate to and who is patient with him! Math is extremely difficult for him, but with Liz’s help, he is passing his class! She has made the difference for us!
After just one lesson my daughter made a 97 on her Algebra I test. We are very pleased and my daughter finds Liz's tutoring easy to understand.
Liz got right to the problem and explained it so that my son could understand it. She was very flexible in working with our times as well. I highly recommend Liz. Thanks.
Liz was very easy to coordinate with and was flexible with her schedule. She worked with my family's needs for the right meeting time and place. I also appreciated her prompt responses to email and was pleased to find out she had experience with the home school Algebra II text we are using. My daughter enjoyed her first session with Liz and we look forward to continuing a positive and productive relationship.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
ACT Math preparation. I suggest purchasing a review book to start going over. Take a sample test or two or even see if you can download an old one off the Internet. What we are after is a way to rule out what you already understand, so we can spend our time together on stuff you don't know.
By the way, I suggest you buy or borrow a TI 83 Graphing calculator. I can show you how to use it to help with factoring, graphing and checking some answers that might be multiple choice. If I can help you save time on one question it will give you more time on another question.
I look forward to hearing from you!
I have been tutoring and teaching math for over 10 years at Lone Star College Tomball and UP center. I hold a level III "Master Tutor" designation from CRLA Which is a Texas A &M based program. My expertise covers all levels of Algebra as well as college level Subjects.
I try to make the topic as simple as possible by showing the student the most basic method of doing the problem possible, while still ensuring they show enough work for the teacher. My biggest competitive advantage over other math tutors is that I show the student how to use the graphing calculator to check his/her answers.
If your student is struggling, give me a try. I'll show them the easy way to work the problem!!
I have worked with young children as a tutor, but not in a school setting, just as a private tutor. I think I have lots of patience to make sure they understand the materials. I first demonstrate how to do the problem, then ask them to tell me how to do it, then gradually have them do the problem with me watching.
I try to make the sessions fun if possible, so the student looks forward to tutoring, instead of dreading it.
My main talent is in math, but I have passed the WyzAnt tests for spelling, vocabulary, reading, writing, and comprehension.
High School Geometry. I have been tutoring and teaching math for over 12 years. Let me use my tried and true methods to help your student understand the topics.
I hold a Level III Tutoring Certification from CRLA, a Texas A & M certification program. I also am proficient in teaching students to use their graphing calculators to the best advantage.
Let me help your struggling student by showing them the easy way to solve the problem, while providing enough work to satisfy the teacher on a test and homework. I look forward to hearing from you!
