I am a certified special education teacher (K-12) and have been teaching for 10 years. I have experience with all kinds of students including the autism spectrum, ADHD, and learning disabilities. I also have my Masters in School Counseling. I love working with students one-on-one and develop curriculum based on the needs of each student. As a teacher, I love working with students and making a difference.

Reading

I have taught reading in public and private schools for the past ten years. I enjoy making learning fun for students and also have many hands-on reading activities to help students read at a better level. I am caring, patient, and creative and tailor each student's reading program to meet their individual needs.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am a certified special education teacher, K-12th grade. I taught students at Bridge Builder Academy that were K-6th grade. I individualized each student's lesson to meet their specific needs.

Phonics

I am a certified special education teacher, k-12th grade. I have worked with students on phonemic awareness by identifying and hearing phonemes. I was able to teach spelling patterns. We also worked on blending sounds and played phonic games. Some of the games included: finding the beginning and ending sound patterns, short vowel, and long vowel games.

Study Skills

I am a certified special education teacher, K-12th grade. I have worked with students from Bridge Builder Academy and LISD on study skills. We made notecards to prepare for tests. I also reviewed materials in different ways to help students remember and recall information. I appealed to the different learning styles: visual, hands-on, and auditory learners.

Special Needs

I have developed individual education plans and behavior plans to meet the needs of each student. I enjoy making a difference in each student's life.

Public Speaking

I am a certified special education teacher; K-12th grade. I have worked with students on public speaking by having them present projects to the class. I also encouraged and provided each student with positive feedback.

Autism

I am certified in special education K-12th grade. I also taught severely autistic students for LISD. I worked with students that were verbal and non-verbal. I also learned sign language. I modified and tailored each student's lessons to meet their individual needs. I enjoyed making a difference in my students' lives.
