Long before I started teaching I had a passion for helping others complete their daily tasks in the most efficient way possible. Using Excel and Access, I was usually able to reduce their production time by >80%. By empowering the user in the workplace, they no longer have to wait for others to extract data or run reports and therefore become more valuable employees.
I now teach in small classrooms where I am able to help my students gain valuable job skills. I also teach classes that prepare the students for the Microsoft MOS certification exam and I consistently receive very positive assessments from my students.
For those pursuing a technical or data management career path, my work experience enables me to teach database planning and design from start to finish including problem solving skills, working with clients, productivity and streamlining.
I am patient and encouraging to my students and will always enjoy some light banter to help dissolve any fears or stress. I do, however expect your attention which means putting your cell phone away unless you hold a position that often requires your immediate attention.
I enjoyed working as an analyst for many years, however nothing has given me so much pleasure as teaching and tutoring has. Even after long hours of teaching, I drive home with a smile on my face knowing that I have done something that I love and I have given something to others.
