I am a certified teacher/counselor with more than twenty-five years of public school teaching and counseling experience with students from Pre-K - 12th grade. I hold a master's degree in counseling. I have a bachelor's degree in social science and 18 hours in English. I have taught reading, middle school social studies, and US History as well as career education and geography. I believe every child can excel with time and individual attention. Students are usually more successful when they feel comfortable and confident in their ability. For this course, my lessons include an introduction to kitchen measurements and reading a recipe,food safety,and the use of cookware and utensils. Students learn about kitchen staples, flour, sugar,corn meal, milk, eggs and butter. Students are taught to prepare a simple breakfast menu of toast, and egg. Students will learn to prepare a simple dinner meal of baked chicken and steamed vegetables.
