My name is Ryan and I am currently employed as the lead counselor/instructor of a "crisis-team" for academic interventions. And yes, the job title is overly embellished, but my job is to identify, locate and correct issues that have caused a severe decline in academic performance of a school or even in a single student. Although it may sound extreme and intense, it is quite the opposite. I have been able to use that experience to identify any gaps that a student may have, and time after time they leave me speechless. Guidance, support, and motivation are more valuable than any private-school/preparatory academy.
Programs: I offer a multitude of programs but regardless of your choice it will be specifically tailored to suit you or your child's needs.
-SAT & Standardized test prep
-instruction and many more

I invite you to make inquires on any topic no matter how small or large and I will try my best to answer your questions in a timely manner
Background Info: I have lived in the Sugar Land area for over 15 years. I went to and graduated from high school in Fort Bend ISD. I graduated in the top 5% of my class, which allowed me to go to the University of Texas at Austin to pursue a degree in Human-Biology (Pre-Med) as well as a Business Foundations Certificate (Associate's). Unfortunately, these are tough times economically as well as uncertain for the Healthcare Industry. At the moment, medical school is on hold and I am working towards a degree in Petroleum Engineering at the University of Houston (Main Campus). I keep regular contact with many of my old middle school and high school teachers (FBISD). I am also in contact with school administrators in the surrounding school districts to ensure standards are maintained and to keep my students a step ahead (counselors, AP's, etc.).
Experience: During my time as a student at UT, I was a tutor for a variety of undergraduate lower-division courses though the main categories I tutored were Math (all college-level math up to calculus 3) and science (biology, chemistry, though strongest at physics). Along with tutoring at UT, I have approximately 2 years of experience working with children ages 7+ with schoolwork in all subjects (Comprehensive Program). Though not a 100% "Academic" employment, I have over 6 years of experience as a tennis instructor to children of all ages as well as adults.
Methods/Goals/Objectives: After the first session is completed and you decide that this is something you want to continue on a regular schedule, then the first step will be determining what subjects you want to cover. Starting there I will create a specific outline that would best suit you or your child. There are many options to choose from in regards to any extra time left in a session, but the option I recommend is to not only keep up with schoolwork, but to get ahead of the curve by focusing on math & ELA fundamentals that are critical topics that will be taught in the coming years. That being said, I am flexible and open in terms of scheduling and the approach that you or your child are most comfortable with. The majority of my work experience has been in the service industry and I will always do my best to ensure that the investment you make is more than worth it. My help does not stop the moment the session is completed nor do you have to wait until the next one begins.
*BACK TO SCHOOL SPECIALS!*
The new school year is about to start- you/your child probably spent little time on Academics over the summer.
I will be offering refresher programs to get some of the rust-off. These programs will be offered in blocks with the number of sessions depending on your child's readiness and their goals, (2 for 1 special, there are other specials available so if you have any questions please let me know. School work is tedious but having another friend/student will drastically change the effectiveness and work ethic. I did not do it so there were times when I was "drowning" in work.
*dont waif until there is a major incident before seeking help because a good foundation is needed in all aspects. Your child should take an aptitude test to help identify weaknesses which can be used to create a game plan.
Promise: School is probably #'s 1-5 on you or your child's list of Top 5 mind-draining activities, but I promise I will make it as fun and enjoyable as humanly possible.
For Parents: You want what is best for your kids and to give them everything you did not have. That is why you've brought me in; I'm the backup quarterback-your backup- I fill in when you're hurt, when you are tired, for the complex/trick plays that are too dangerous. But at the end of the day, even days you're not in, I'm the backup, you’re the starter, the playbook is in your hands, you just gotta tell me what to do.
*As stated earlier, I am able to tutor a multitude of classes and will verify by using WyzAnt's certification processes. In my experience I have always found that being realistic and straightforward is the best policy. You and/or your child will always be treated respectfully and professionally.
*Again, following WyzAnt's policies regarding communication: If/when any problems or questions arise, please bring it to my attention as soon as possible. I am more than glad to answer any questions that you may have. Responses will generally take 3 to 6 hours and never longer than 48 hours unless otherwise noted. Ryan is punctual, professional, friendly, patient and very knowledgeable. He has been great at teaching our daughter Geometry concepts in a way that she can understand. We can't thank him enough for his diligence and effort in helping our daughter to reach her goals. It is a real gift that is not only measured by an increase in productivity and grades, but also an invaluable confidence his students who achieve their academic goals will gain.
Always on time. very patient. We have given him a very tough task and he hasn't flinched. Hard worker. Has a lot to teach.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
