Friendly Elementary Tutor Scheduling for the Summer

Hi! I am Melissa and I am an elementary tutor. I have 11 years of experience in area private schools. I have taught PreK-5th grades. My specialty subject is elementary math, but I tutor all elementary subjects and 6th grade math. For scheduling purposes and to help as many students that need me, I tutor out of my Greatwood home. Please contact me if your child needs some help or you need someone to help them get through their homework.

Summer is a great time for your child to work on weak subject areas before the next grade level. I am currently taking requests for summer hours. I will be tutoring on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during the summer out of my home. I start at scheduling sessions at 9:00am each morning and will accept students until 4:00 p.m. Now is a great time to get on my schedule.

American History

I minored in American history and have 11 years of experience teaching a variety of different grade levels of social studies and geography. American history is my favorite subject!

Vocabulary

Being an avid reader and traveler, I have strong vocabulary skills. I can help your child study vocabulary using a variety of methods and games.

Grammar

Grammar tends to be a bit boring until I teach it! I teach grammar with games and puzzles.

Reading

I am an avid reader and I love to work with children who struggle and try to give them strategies that may work for them.

Spelling

I can take the boring out of spelling. I use games and puzzles to teach spelling.

Elementary Math

I have taught Pre-K through 6th grade math. I know a variety of different ways to teach math concepts that may reach your child. I hope to make math fun for your child!

Elementary (K-6th)

I have taught every subject from the grade levels of pre-K to fifth grade and have tutored extensively in 6th grade. My degree is in elementary education grade K-8. I feel that I can handle any subject comfortably K-6.

Social Studies

I have a minor in American history and social studies has always been a favorite subject to teach. I have a small library of social studies books for use in numerous subjects. I have a large collection of social studies resources.
