I have a Master's in Electrical Engineering and have proven experience in teaching and tutoring to everyone from struggling high school students to PhD engineers.
* Successfully tutored a student through college algebra earning her an A, after she had failed algebra without a tutor.
* Recently tutored algebra, geometry, trig and test preparation for the SAT, THEA, and GMAT, greatly improving their scores.
* Tutored pre-algebra, algebra, and geometry for 7th-10th grade students at a small private school.
* Earlier tutored algebra, geometry, trig, calculus, and computer programming to high school and college students.
I like to try different approaches to solving problems, because not everyone learns in the same way. I try to find the best approach to help each student understand the concepts, while having the patience and understanding to get the struggling students through the class.
I worked for many years as an Engineer for a top company in Semiconductor Design. I taught Chip Design Methods to teams in the U.S., U.K., France, Sweden, Japan, and India. I can clarify complex concepts in ways anyone can understand. I also volunteer for Special Olympics events and help with ARC/Texana activities.
I really enjoy helping struggling students become great students and prepare for college. I scored in the 99th percentile in GMAT math, and enjoy helping others score as high as they can. I enjoy helping students really understand the concepts, rather than just "finish the homework." Then we can continue to grow their skills. They become encouraged and discover they really can learn it, and this builds their confidence and self esteem. There is no feeling like watching a student who finally understands a difficult concept and see their expression when the "light comes on."
With all the cut backs at the schools, the students may need more tutoring. The news says the US is behind the rest of the world in math and science, so I am doing my part to help. Please let me help your student.
