Hi! I have been working with a variety of students - from the very young to the non-traditional adult student. I specialize in English, Humanities, History, Politics, German, GED, SAT, and ACT. My intention is to achieve small successes with each student, in an effort to assist the student in building confidence while working toward their goals. I believe that a strength of mine is providing non-threatening, open learning environments. I further believe that all students learn differently and that it is my responsibility to find the way that works best for each individual student.

I have been an educator for the better part of two decades. I am working on my M.A. in Adult Education at the University of Phoenix. I have taught English as a Second Language at LoneStar College along with adult basic education classes at the Houston Read Commission. Working with the adult population has fueled my desire to continue my own education and learn all I can about teaching. I have a B.A. in German and International Affairs while also holding a secondary teaching certificate in German and Humanities. I have taught at both the middle school and the high school levels. My joy for teaching extends to pilates and yoga.

I look forward to making each session alive and interesting, focusing on helping the student make real connections between learning and life. Helping students reach goals and achieve success in a non-threatening learning environment is the main tenet of my teaching philosophy.
