I am currently a teacher at Carnegie Vanguard High school.
I completed my Bachelor in Science from Longview Texas, where I majored in International Business with a minor in Finances. I passed the states French exam under the alternative program for teachers called Texas Teachers. This school year (2011-2012), I have completed my certification at Carnegie vanguard high the best high school in Houston.
I was raised in a French family so I am well-versed in cultural differences and challenges. I spent most of my life between France and my Native country Senegal. I am more aware, responsive, and sensitive to the needs of various cultural background students. Also during my college years, I played on the men’s soccer team (3 years NCAA). Managing time between both academics and athletics taught me a lifetime lessons. Time management, responsibility, organizational skills, leadership and teamwork are some of the skills I learned and I want to use in classroom.
My positive experience as a teacher, made me highly motivated and determined to become a more effective teacher. I am very enthusiastic about the subject (French) and kids in general... I want to make an impact on students so that they can grow socially as well as academically.
I know the importance of communicating with parents and colleagues so that I will be able to provide the best education for my students. I strongly believe that the skills and natural ability to speak French will be beneficial to the students.
