ADD/ADHD

As a licensed teacher, I have worked with many ADD and ADHD students and understand their need for a quiet and focused environment in which learning can be realized.

Bible Studies

I am an ordained minister and I studied Bible at Houston Baptist University. I have an interest in the Bible as literature and feel I am highly qualified to assist students taking Bible studies.

Dyslexia

As a licensed teacher, I have worked with many dyslexic students and understand their need for modifications.

Phonics

I was personally trained to teach phonics by Marie LeDoux, the author of the successful phonics program, Play N Talk.

Piano

I have been teaching piano for the past 25 years and am a member of the music guild. I teach both classical and pop as well as rudiments of music theory.

Social Studies

I hold a composite Social Studies teacher certification in the state of Texas.

Approved Subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet certified in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
