As the owner of a small start-up publishing company, I was highly involved with all phases of development and production of books and two local newspapers.
I personally created the cover design and interior topography for 12 books from conceptional ideas through the final published work -- all of which are available for sale through world-wide distribution.
I was also the primary graphic artist for our two newspapers, creating and/or approving ad designs for clients as well as the monthly layout design of each issue.
We produced 8 Best Selling Authors in first 2-years, focusing on small-platform authors with great books the large publishers can’t profit on. This included my first book.
Experience with Mac and PC based publishing software; Photoshop, InDesign and other high-end graphics/photo applications, as well as Microsoft Office: Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, FrontPage and Project Manager.
I have worked with 4000 dpi film and flatbed scanners; Epson and Cannon photo printers; Nikon professional digital cameras D5000, D7000 and D2H; Nikon professional film F4 and F5 cameras; professional studio lighting equipment.
For four years my primary job was running a training program for the government. Part of the training I provided was teaching advanced Aviation English to foreign military pilots. English is a critical skill that all pilots must have.
Besides teaching English, i spent the last 20 years writing government technical reports, regulations and operating procedures, building curriculum and lesson courseware, and numerous other writing and speaking projects.
I am the co-author of Children's Reiki Hanbook that spent over 4 years on the Amazon Best Seller list. It was also a Best Seller at Barnes and Noble.
I earn my first Masters Degree in Computer Resource and Information Management and during several previous positions, computers and network administration for the company was part of my department.
From 1997 to 2003, I repaired, refurbished, and upgraded older computer systems as a hobby-job. This included internal hardware and software upgrades ranging from OEM installation and configuration of motherboards, CPUs, RAM, hard drives, video cards, etc, to the simple installation of new operating systems.
I worked with computers since 1984, starting as a volunteer in the computer lab at Warren Wilson College programing and trouble shooting Apple IIs.
Since them I have gained extensive expereince with both Mac and PCs, running MS Office: Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Access, Adobe Photoshop and Indesign, Quickbooks, as well as other programs on both platforms.
I have over 30 years of active involvement in various martial arts with over 20 years an instructor. In 1997 I was inducted into the Hall of Fame as Instructor of the Year. I currently hold a 7th Dan (7th degree black belt)
I was introduced to martial arts training at age 10 with a very short time in judo. I began my formal training at 14 in Kempo Karate and earned 1st Black Belt at age 19.
I currently hold Master Instructor certification in 4 differnet styles including Taekwondo, Hapkido, Tangsodo and Kempo as well as black belt certifications several others.
I served in numerous leadership positions including: Vice President, International Combat Hapkido Federation, Germany Director, International Taekwondo Jidokwan Federation.
I have been actively involved in photography for over 30 years with 5 years teaching photographic theory and techniques to private students.
I began my professional photography experience while in high-school and studied under Blake Praytor, former Chairman of the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Greenville Technical College, current Lead Professor of Photography. I also attended the New York Institute of Photography and I am a former member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA)
I worked as a semi-professional photographer for 10 years and as professional for 5 years, including as Staff Photographer for The Program: A Sports Journal as well as Special Events and Sport Photographer for the Castroville News Bulletin.
I currently and own my own studio and photography business, and provide private lessons in photography. I have experience in intimate weddings; glamor; travel, portrait, and documentary photography.
I was also first published and won my first two photography awards while in high school. Since then I have had 100s of my photographs published in national and international newspapers and magazines.
I am currently working on my doctorate degree in psychology with emphasis in cognition and learning.
I completed formal training in public speaking during 4 officer, leadership, and instructor qualification courses while in service.
I also graduated from the USAF Academic Instructor Course which provides training for platform instructors.
I have written and given speeches, briefings, presentations, and other public speaking activities throughout the last 20 years. My audiences ranged from employees, subordinates, stakeholders, CEOs, congressmen, senators, and general officers, all in groups from five to over 200.
