I believe that all students can learn. It is my responsibility to find out what instructional strategies work for each student. I have a wealth of experience working with students ranging from 2nd to 8th grade, including dual language learners. I have found that the majority of students are kinesthetic visual learners; therefore, I use different resources and manipulatives to include technology. Using accountable talk to solve problems is one of the many methods to help learners generate ideas.
As a reading, writing or Spanish tutor, I have experience exposing students to reading all types of genres. In the past learners have enjoyed learning about science or social studies through literature and hands-on projects to target specific skills and or concepts.
Spanish tutoring techniques:
A second language is best learned through observation, acting out and visuals; therefore, my Spanish lessons are geared through movement, pronunciation, listening to music and fun activities.
I have over 5 years of experience preparing learners with standardized testing in reading language arts in elementary grade levels.
