To be a successful tutor requires patience and a love of teaching. When a student is struggling to grasp core English and writing concepts, they are actually struggling with understanding the method used by the teacher. During my undergraduate career, I excelled in writing in-depth historical and literature research papers. That knowledge has prepared me to work with students and pass on those tools that are so essential to learning. I also achieved high marks in statistics and college math. Another valuable trait I bring to the tutoring table is my sense of humor. Students need to understand that struggling in certain subject areas is nothing get frustrated over! I also provide an attitude that let's the student know how easy they can overcome the subjects giving them the most difficulty. Creating a fun learning environment is what educating is all about!
I am currently seeking my certification in teaching and I am a recent graduate from the University of Texas at Dallas. I graduated with high honors for my submission of an Honors Thesis, and graduated with a 3.5 in historical studies. A bachelor's of arts degree requires rigorous coursework in writing research papers and analyzing historical information. I took 12+ hours in literature and 30+ hours in advanced history. I specialize in Early American history, but am very skilled in a diverse range of American history. My advanced writing skills can be transferred to you the student. I can help refine your writing and prepare you for advanced tests!
I look forward to hearing from you soon!
