As long as I can remember, I've always had a lifelong passion for Drawing and Painting. I began my artistic career at the age of eight when my Mom enrolled me in Adult painting classes and then hired professional artists to tutor me. I always longed to have that art teacher that pushed, inspired and encouraged me to do my best.

I have exhibited in galleries in both Santa Fe and Denver, was a Muralist and most recently taught Art in Minnesota for grades K through 8. Teaching Art to young minds has been my most fulfilling and rewarding life path so far.

I believe in the philosophy that learning must be both challenging and engaging. I also believe that every young artist has his or hers own unique needs and I create a lesson plan designed specifically with that in mind.

Art History

While obtaining my BFA in Painting & Drawing at UNT, I acquired 18 semester hours in Art History. While teaching at a Core Knowledge Charter School in Minnesota for 6 years, I taught primarily Art History. I've also traveled to major Art Museums all over the world to see it firsthand. I've attended Art museums in Paris, Chicago, New York, Washington DC, London, Manila, Monterrey, Mexico; Dallas, San Diego, Memphis, El Paso, Fort Worth, St. Petersburg, Santa Fe & Philadelphia.

Drawing

I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting & Drawing from the University of North Texas. I have exhibited professionally in galleries in both Santa Fe and Denver. I worked as an in-house artist for EXPO Design Center for 5 years in Texas where I did Murals. I have completed murals that are on permanent display at Colleyville Middle School and the Child Study Center both in Fort Worth, Texas.

Elementary (K-6th)

I was a licensed Art teacher in Minnesota for 6 years and taught at two charter schools in Bloomington, MN. During my six years, I was required to tutor students with special needs in both Reading and Math. From 2006 to 2010, I worked predominantly with grades K through 5. From 2011 to 2013, I taught two study halls in addition to my Art classes, where I tutored Special Education students in all subjects ranging from English, Social Studies, Math, and Reading. This was for a Prep School, which is grades 6-8.
