I began my tutoring career in 2004 in Denton, TX while attending the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science at the University of North Texas. This included volunteer tutoring at Calhoun Middle School and Denton High School in the Denton school district. The focus areas of my tutoring were math and science.
While at the University of North Texas, I worked for the Mathematics Department as a grader for several College Algebra courses. After graduating from the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science in 2006, I moved to Daytona Beach, FL to attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University majoring in Aerospace Engineering.
While in Daytona Beach I worked for a Sylvan Learning Center as a certified instructor for nearly two years. I was required to teach math essentials, reading essentials, SAT/ACT Prep, as well as, homework support for students grades K-12th. I also had a handful of college students and adults that would come to the center for homework support. At Sylvan Learning Center I acquired the necessary skills to not only teach students of all ages, but also to make the learning experience non-tedious and enjoyable. I have since moved back to the DFW area to complete my college career at the University of Texas at Arlington, while continuing my tutoring career with Group Excellence and then as a private tutor.
