Learning is a lifetime job. You do not get paid to learn, but what you learn may make you a lot of money; what you learn may also make you an enthusiastic worker, a happy and satisfied worker. Your attitude can help you learn or prohibit you from learning. No one has a crystal ball to see into the future, so you never know when you will use a particular piece of information in your future. Reading, writing, basic math, and science will pave your way to learn the most complicated information IF you WANT to learn. No one can make you desire an education. You must have the desire within yourself. If you have this desire to learn, I can help you learn reading, writing, reasoning (critical thinking), science and basics in history and social studies.
I taught in the public school system in two different states for a total of twenty-four years, in schools from size 1A to 4A. In my major field of vocational home economics, I have taught all the classes offered. I am also certified in biology and have participated in a pilot program for at-risk students in physical science (which used to be a requirement for high school freshmen).
My belief is that all students can learn; no two students are exactly the same, so in a tutoring situation, the first job is to understand why the student needs/wants tutoring; then comes setting goals and guidelines for work, behavior, and measuring success.
