My name is Adrienne and I am a young and aspiring Biologist that has a passion for children and the pursuit of knowledge. I hope to not only share knowledge with my students, but develop healthy relationships with them to optimize their learning experience!
I graduated from high-school in 2007 having participated in advanced classes, track, band, cheerleading, dancing, while spending my spare time volunteering and reading. After high-school, I continued by educational pursuit at the University of Texas at Tyler for a year before moving to various locations, taking online classes and intermittently returning for laboratory semesters in Texas. (Specifically, I resided in the Caribbean for two years and Brooklyn for one year.) After having my son (now 3 years old) in Brooklyn, I decided to complete my education at Lamar University in Beaumont in order to be closer to my family. Having a child of my own has exponentially magnified my perspective on children and their ability to learn. My goal is to share this passion and education to intellectually intrigue others in order to open their eyes to their infinite learning possibilities!
By early May, I will have my Bachelors Degree in Biology completed with a minor in Psychology. In addition, I've conducted research on marine ecosystems, turtle/snake populations, environmental safety, stem cells, and biochemistry. I hold official positions in the American Medical Student Association and Tri Beta Biology Honors Society, which provided many volunteering opportunities. Further, I have accumulated a significant amount of volunteer hours in hospitals (primarily the neonatal ICU) along with multiple charity organizations. This gave me the opportunity to aid in physical therapy with disabled children, actively work with multiple animal rescue teams, and help manage fundraisers for the needy. Throughout the years, I've held jobs as a certified Pharmacy Technician (in both hospital and retail), swimming coach (Grades K-6th), waitress in various restaurants, cycling/fitness instructor, and University laboratory manager. Lastly, I was fortunately chosen to hold a one year position as a peer tutor for 2nd graders and have privately tutored high-school and college students over the years.
Collectively, I believe that my passions, education, and life experience has led me to pursue an occupation as a tutor! I look forward to meeting new students and parents alike! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to send me a message. Thank you for your time and consideration!
