Over the past two years, I have helped students with specific and general learning differences achieve their grade and test score goals.
I have a bachelor's degree in education from Texas Wesleyan University, and over 10 years of public school teaching experience. I have taught at the primary, secondary, and collegiate levels. I enjoy working with students of all ability levels, and I work very hard to customize lessons to fit a student's educational abilities and needs. I also try to make learning engaging and fun, while still underscoring the need for hard work.
As an educational psychologist, I have completed many hours of advanced coursework, and I am well-versed in the current research regarding learning, memory, and instructional practices. I utilize this knowledge to identify underlying processing difficulties that may be interfering with learning, and to design a specialized strategy for achieving the desired results. In addition, I have a thorough understanding of effective study skills, organization
, and test-taking skills.
