I am a professional Mandarin Chinese Instructor. I have taught early childhood students, middle school students, high school students, university students, and adult workforce learners. I understand my learners extremely well by identifying and analyzing the strengths and weaknesses by utilizing the questionnaire and personal interview. I also developed and designed the Chinese curricula as a Chinese curriculum developer for the public school districts of different states in U.S.
I use a learner-centered approach to teach Chinese Mandarin based on the real needs of my students by using flexible/differentiated teaching methods. The comprehensive teaching and training methods will also be used for four aspects of Chinese language proficiency acquisition.
The listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills will be equally emphasized on the teaching and learning process through the systematic personalized tutoring. The interactive teaching and learning styles will be used during tutoring combined with online websites via internet if necessary. All the effective learning and study skills of Chinese Mandarin will be covered based on the theories of most updated cognitive learning in Psychology.
The audio files and video files will be created for your review purposes based on your specific curriculum to fit the learning needs of your learning objectives. For video clips, you will have a chance to watch and listen to the content of situation dialogue, short or long passage as an article repeatedly. In other words, you always have a chance to listen to my audio files and watch my video clips as a review after you have studied your learning material. In addition, you can record your own audio file as a response after listening to the questions of my audio file for your speaking skill practice. And, I will give you a feedback for you to correct your own mistakes. All of your learning activities are based on the guideline of your comprehensive learning goals.
The comprehensive Chinese vocabulary will be built up step-by-step according to different learning levels intertwined with the AP Chinese Exam, CBE or Credits By Examination, HanYu Shuiping Kaoshi (Mandarin Level Test associated with Mainland China), and STAMP Test (Standards-based Measurement of Proficiency for Chinese Language in U.S.) especially for the learners who are interested in long-term Chinese learning. Thus, the essential grammar usages will also be covered and connected to the specific learning material in the tutoring curriculum to optimize the effects of learning.
