Tutor for Elementary (EC-6) Students, Certified Teacher

****SUMMER STUDENTS***

I currently teach Pre-Kindergarten in Houston Texas. I am looking for a couple of students to tutor throughout the summer. I am able to develop an individualized plan to meet your child's needs. I have a degree in Early Childhood Education, and going to begin my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction in Literacy Studies to become a Reading Specialist.

I have tutored through WyzAnt before. One first grader in Language Arts, who also has dyslexia, the other in 8th grade math. I love working with children and watching them succeed.

I have passed the EC-6 Generalist Exam

Phonics

I am certified with my EC-6 Generalist. I have used phonics in my Kindergarten and 5th grade classrooms, and have implemented different methods throughout to teach phonics. I have also taken three literacy classes to help prepare me to teach phonics instruction.

Special Needs

Have completed my EC-6 Generalist Exam. I have also worked with several ESL students through out my Student Teaching, as well as have worked with numerous special needs throughout volunteering.

ADD/ADHD

During student teaching, I was able to work with three different students whom had ADD/ADHD. I have learned different strategies and methods to accomodate their learning environment.

TAKS

I have passed the EC-6 Generalist Exam. I have also gone to a STARR professional development, as well as have prepared students to take the TAKS exam through implementing numerous lessons.
