I have created curriculum to teach technical support reps for a wireless company and was able to tailor and teach to all levels in the classes. Understanding the needs of the students enabled me to teach them how to better help our customers.
I was able to take the same approach with curriculum created for a children's church at my home church. By utilizing creative writing, reading, and biblical knowledge, I was able to teach children, which ranged in ages from 7 to 12 years old, lessons that involved active listening, reading, and analytic skills, as well as character building.
I feel that a combination of tailored lessons, demonstrating skills, review, and humor are useful tools in helping children of all ages to better understand what they are learning.
I have five years experience in training and teaching others in different areas. I write for an online magazine and have an Associate's Degree in Occupational Technology. I am also former Navy, and am used to exact and concise understanding of different subjects and how to disseminate that information to others.
I have been married for sixteen years and have two very bright and active kids of my own. I would consider it a blessing and a privilege to assist young people in achieving academic success.
