My name is Bryan and I am a tutor for biology, life science and history. I am currently attending Texas Tech University pursuing a Bachelor's of University Studies degree with concentrations in Communications, History and Horticulture and Turfgrass Science.

I speak English, my first language, and Spanish. I was an assistant teacher for 5th grade and an assistant teacher for grades six to twelve special education. I greatly enjoy working with kids of all ages, however a majority of my tutoring experience is with upper grade levels. I hope to bring the joy of learning to as many kids as possible and help them live up to their potential.

American History

I am pursuing a degree with a concentration in history. That is, 18 hours of coursework which is the equivalent of an academic minor.

Biology

With a degree concentration in horticulture I have an educational background in life science. Biology incorporates aspects of chemistry and physics. A fundamental understanding of all sciences is essential for learning biology. I will help students gain proficiency in all aspects of biology including anatomy, botany, cell biology, marine biology, and zoology.

European History

I am pursuing a degree with a concentration in history. That is, 18 hours of coursework which is the equivalent of an academic minor.
I can help students with proficiency in all aspects of European history including: Prehistoric Europe, Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome, Byzantium, The Crusades, The Renaissance, the Age of Exploration, colonial expansion, WWI, WWII, and modern day Europe and much more.

Ecology

As someone with expertise in horticulture and plant science I am confident with helping students learn about ecology and environmental science.

I can help students learn life processes, the various adaptations of organisms, the movement of energy throughout the ecosystem, environmental biodiversity and natural resource management.

General Music

My exposure to music began when I was five years old playing the piano. While continuing to take piano lessons I took up violin in elementary school. Piano

At the age of five I began private piano lessons. I stopped lessons at age nine. I continued to play the piano in my spare time and practice to sharpen my skills. With knowledge of other instruments, and a continuing love for the piano, I built a strong musical foundation. Still playing in my spare time, I never cease to make improvements. The piano requires concentration, coordination, and, as with all forms of music, dedication. The piano harbors the true musical spirit.

Religion

Along with my expertise in history, I am a lifelong Catholic who has completed 5 years of religious studies within the church as a student and young adult. I have a deep understanding of the inner workings of Catholicism as well as other religious denominations. I believe that theology can be a fun and interesting subject.

Botany

As I am pursuing a degree in Horticulture and Turfgrass science I have gained much knowledge in the field of plant science. I greatly enjoy learning about plant life and hope to help others gain an appreciation and knowledge of plants and botany.

My expertise is in horticulture, and cultivated plants. I can help students with learning plant biology, plant physiology, plant ecology, agricultural practices, plant identification, crop science and arboriculture.

Trombone

I was in concert and marching band for seven years playing trombone during junior high and high school. I chaired in the All-City and All District Bands. I consistently scored I's on my UIL Solos. I continue to play the trombone in my spare time to keep my skills sharp. I believe the trombone is truly a unique instrument and a fundamental part of the band.

Public Speaking

One of my degree concentrations is in Communication Studies. That is 18 hours of course work which is equivalent to an academic minor.
I can help students with public speaking, business and technical communication, persuasion, rhetoric, speech, speech writing and debate.

Speech

I am very interested in the social sciences and humanities. I can help students with American history, world history, Western civilizations, political science, economics, religious studies, cultural studies, sociology and geography.

ACT Science

With a degree concentration in horticulture, I have a strong background in science. Testing for science can be tricky, but I will do my best to strengthen students' skills in science and testing.
