Hi, my name is Melody. I am a full time teacher in Converse. I have taught 3rd grade for the last 3 years, and I have taught preschool for 5 years. Helping people build foundations to become successful individuals is important to me. I teach all subjects: Math, ELA, Science, Social Studies, and spelling. Over the years, I have taught ESL, Special Education, and general education students. My certifications are English as a Second Language K - 12, Special Education K-12, and general education PreK-4.

I am available to tutor in math up to 6th grade, reading, science, social studies, and history all levels.

Phonics

I am a certified teacher Pre K - 4, and I have been teaching 3rd grade for 3 years. Prior to teaching 3rd grade, I taught pre k for 5 years.

Phonics is the building blocks to reading successfully. Phonics ranges from letter recognition to prefixes and suffixes. There are a series of stages with phonics. It takes time to master, and if a student is missing a component, it does affect their reading ability.

ADD/ADHD

Hello! I am a certified teacher: general education PreK-4, ESL, and Special Eduaction K-12. I have been teaching the 3rd grade for 3 years. I have taught many students with ADD/ADHD with and without medication.
