I am excited to work with you! To provide a brief overview, I'm typically described as a fun-loving prankster, yet serious researcher when concerning student achievement. My previous position as an Inclusion Instructor, and current situation as a full-time PhD student at Texas A&M University place me in a unique position as an educator/student. Having acquired a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and Master of Science in Juvenile Forensic Psychology I understand students developmentally, which fosters an ability to educationally assist students in the way most appropriate for their personality, intellect, and worldview. As a PhD Candidate, I have presented research nationally and abroad, and contributed to the literature on student achievement. Thus, I am confident I possess the character, knowledge, and commitment to serve as your tutor in the following areas: Writing, English, Reading, Study Skills, Psychology, and Education.

More than half a billion persons worldwide utilize Microsoft Office! It is the premiere software for students who write, present, tabulate, create, etc. Particularly Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint are necessary for high school and college students. I'd love to help you build a skill-set for using these applications.

Microsoft PowerPoint

Microsoft PowerPoint is one of the most utilized presentation software. Moreover, more than half a billion persons worldwide utilize Microsoft Office! While Microsoft PowerPoint is well known it is one in a family of presentation applications such as Prezi, Google Docs and other online modes. I'd love to help you build a skill-set for using these to nail a presentation!

Reading

Reading is likely the single most important educative skill required to negotiate through life! It allows one to exert knowledge and agency regarding every life situation. Reading is closely associated with English, Grammar, and Writing. One who speaks well, typically reads and writes well. Writing

Writing is a skill one masters through reading, grammar and language acquisition, imaginative cognition, and mere practice. J.K. Rowling once said, "The most important thing is to read as much as you can like I did. It will give you an understanding of what makes good writing and it will enlarge your vocabulary." Let me develop your passion for reading and thereby writing skills!

English

English is the official language of the United States. Thus, one will likely utilize it for their life's duration. If planning to attend college, and/or pursue a professional career in the United States one should also seek to master the language with which one will communicate. Allow me to equip you with the techniques required to master this complex language.

Psychology

Psychology is my passion! I have two degrees in this field, one specific to youth; my previous positions as an Associate Psychologist and Special Education Teacher utilized these degrees. I would love to help your child in any psychology related course.

SAT Writing

Do you have a passion for writing or reading? If not, I am the tutor for you! Writing is a skill established through speaking and reading proficiency. Essentially, one who speaks well likely writes well. SAT Writing is a procedural skill requiring critical thinking, and reading and writing skills. I'd love to help you develop all three in an effort to assist you in passing the writing test. I look forward to hearing from you.

Elementary Math

As a certified Special Education Teacher, I participated in the regular instruction of multiple subjects. Elementary Math is a subject for which I have great passion and proficiency. I'd love to work with you!

Study Skills

As a middle school instructor I also taught Study Skills. This included a rich curriculum, which I'd love to share with you! While many believe studying is seamless, effective studying includes specific strategies that coincide with your personality and schedule. Contact me if you require serious studying strategies.

ADD/ADHD

Having acquired two degrees in Psychology, worked in a juvenile detention center, and taught Special Education I am quite versed in the field. As an Associate Psychologist at the Texas Youth Commission I administered, scored, and interpreted intellectual, psychological, and personality assessments.
